Pierre Sarrazin

Journalist and documentary filmmaker, Pierre Sarrazin transitioned to films and television series that reflect his interest in politics and media. 

His first film, the comedy La Florida, won the Golden Reel Award for highest box office in Canada and has delighted audiences for years, a movie that never goes out of circulation. 

His television series The City, a three-season drama about a city and its conflicting forces, wealth and poverty, was produced for the CTV network and distributed internationally by Fremantle. 

He has produced seven films for television focusing on issues such as gun violence and child predators, winning Best Television Movie for Doomstown directed by Sudz Sutherland. 

As an independent film producer with extensive experience in Canada he brings a wealth of knowledge about the current system of funding and distribution in Canada. 


Suzette Couture

Suzette Couture is recognized as one of Canada’s finest screenwriters.   Her work has aired in the US and internationally to great acclaim.

In the US she was awarded the prestigious Humanitas Prize for her series Haven which aired on CBS.  Her CBS series Jesus was nominated for an Emmy. 

In Canada she has been awarded five Gemini Awards, a Writers Guild of Canada Award and a Canadian Screen Award for her screenplays.

Many of her projects have featured stories dealing with issues of social justice including the series Conspiracy of Silence about the murder of a young, Indigenous woman, and the television movie Doomstown, about gun violence, for which she won a Gemini Award Best Movie as producer. 

Her first feature film, the French-language comedy La Florida, won the Golden Reel Award for highest Canadian box office.
